Shana is the Education & Outreach Coordinator at Fair Haven, Lake County Indiana's Rape Crisis Center. Shana began her work in 2014 and is passionate to inspire and empower others through education. Legislature Bill 355 passed in 2018, "Erin's Law", requiring schools to provide child sexual abuse education to students grades K-12 and for staff throughout Indiana. Combining her love of teaching children and resolve to protect and nurture children, this provides a wonderful opportunity to serve the community.
Education: High School Diploma from Calumet High School in Gary, IN. Bachelor of Arts for Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Minoring in Women Studies and Communications, graduating from Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, IN in 2017. A correspondence degree in Child Psychology from Stratford Career Institute. Certification in Nouethetic Biblical Counseling, Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy Training with the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC).
Personal: In 2000, Shana married her husband Terry and became a Brickie resident of Hobart. Together they have 3 children, at different life stages. She is very busy with activities including local community events, the Scout program and is a Sunday School teacher at church.
